about

Beatmool returns to Pulse Palace for his third EP titled "Fixated"

In this EP, Beatmool explores deeper into his love for simple musical ideas or motifs fully developed into complete tracks. The entire EP was written over the autumn of 2019, where he frequented the beautiful coast of Pacific Northwest in search for solitude and meditation. Inspired by his inability to let go of certain things in life, the title track "Fixated" features Beatmool's signature guitar sounds carefully layered over each other. "Downpour" as the name suggests was written in heavy rainfall during his solo trip along the coastlines, capturing and recreating the calm yet melancholic feeling of being alone in the wilderness with his lush palette of sound. The third track "Four Seasons" features samples from "Shiki No Uta (Song of Four Seasons)" by Nujabes; one of the biggest inspirations for Beatmool's sound. As a tribute, Beatmool layers his own guitar lines, subtle vocals and harmonic pads to one of his favourite tracks by the late Japanese Hip-Hop producer. "Back Mirror" reflects on his return road trip home from the coast, where he finds beautifully lit crimson twilight in the back mirror of his car. Titled after acknowledging his ignorance of the world outside his own, the final track of the EP "Blindfold" wraps up this instrument-heavy EP with once again featuring his triumphant and hopeful guitar melodies over beautifully crafted soundscapes.
